The Secret Garden is currently hiring servers and kitchen staff!
If you’re passionate about providing great service and creating a caring environment for guests, we encourage you to join the team.
We hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine this summer! Here’s a quick iced tea recipe to cool down with when the weather gets hot:
Steep 2 teaspoons of tea leaves in 8 ounces of boiling water, for 3 minutes. Remove leaves and add lemon, sweetener, or milk if desired.
Pour over a glass of ice, and enjoy!
With our wide variety of teas, the iced tea options are endless. Here are a few of our favourites:
Our best-selling Creamy Earl Grey makes a delightful iced tea. Poured over ice, we like to add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and simple syrup to bring out the natural, refreshing citrus notes.
Our Blue Angel Herbal Tea is a blend of tangy pink hibiscus and fruit pieces. Naturally sweet, it’s popular with kids! For a “fruit punch,” add a splash of lemonade.
Our Creamy Caramel Rooibos is a unique thirst quencher. Smooth caramel and nutty rooibos yield a decadent, caffeine-free infusion. Enjoy it on its own or add a touch of milk.
Last year, we were honoured to be voted “Best Teahouse” in the Georgia StraightBest of Vancouver Awards.
Voting is now open for the 2018 Reader’s Choice awards, and we would sincerely appreciate your help maintaining our title this year.

The Secret Garden regularly features works by local artists. This month we will be showcasing art by Stephanie Friesen. Originally from Kelowna, Stephanie is married with 3 sons and 5 grandchildren.
In the mid 60’s Stephanie danced professionally for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Co., and she is a self taught painter and photographer. She works in watercolour, acrylic, oils and photography. Visit the Secret Garden this month to see more of Stephanie’s artwork.
Kids love tea! Perhaps you have your own memories of playing tea party as a child, or having tea with your parents or grandparents.
Recently The Secret Garden hosted a Teddy Bear picnic in the park for some of our youngest customers. They loved “playing grownup” with the fancy teacups and teapots, complete with our bright pink Blue Angel herbal tea.
Teatime is a great way to create treasured memories with your kids. Here are a few photos from the Teddy Bear picnic:
