When the weather gets hot, nothing tastes as refreshing as a cool glass of iced tea. Iced tea is simple to prepare at home. Here’s a quick recipe to use whenever you need to cool down with when the weather gets hot:
- Steep 2 teaspoons of tea leaves in 8 ounces of boiling water, for 3 minutes.
- Add lemon, sweetener, or milk if desired. (Do not add milk to hibiscus tea blends or tea with fresh lemon, since the milk may curdle.)
- Pour over ice: First remove leaves if using a tea ball or teabag. Or if steeping tea loose, strain into a heat-tempered glass of ice.
You can also blend half iced tea and half lemonade for your own twist on an Arnold Palmer–or muddle some fresh mint and berries for a refreshing cooler.
