We were thrilled to have Lysanne our head pastry chef featured on Creators Vancouver! The website celebrates professional artists and creators around the city.

In her interview Lysanne shares about her passion for her work at The Secret Garden. Our High Tea menus, such as the ones we introduce above, are particularly challenging and fun. Lysanne explained, “High tea is where I get to create a lot. I try to do new recipes every time; it can be difficult.”

Lysanne is a true artist, and and her creations are as delicious as they are beautiful. We hope you’ll get a chance to try them at the Garden!

Secret Garden featured in Traditions magazine

Secret Garden was featured in the June 2014 edition of Traditions Magazine by Darpan, as the perfect place for a bachelorette party:

“The Secret Garden Tea Company is a local favourite, located in Vancouver’s Kerrisdale neighbourhood. The warm, cozy atmosphere, delicious tea and delicate tea cups provide a beautiful setting for the ultimate girlfriend bonding experience. One of the owners, Kathy Wyder, says many bridal showers are conducted on site. You can bring your own décor and request your favourite tea blends to make your shower perfect. But if having a shower on site is not your “cup of tea,” The Secret Garden offers a “High Tea to Go” package with tea and a set menu of sweet and savory treats, so you can surprise the bride with a lovely tea party picnic, including the aunties and grandmothers, before the real bachelorette partying begins!”

Secret Garden hosts family for Children’s Hospital Miracle Weekend

The Secret Garden has been a long-time supporter of BC Children’s Hospital. Recently we had the pleasure of hosting one cancer patient and her parents for Miracle Weekend, an event which has helped raise over $200 million for BC Children’s Hospital since 1988. This video shares more about the family’s visit to Secret Garden.

Proceeds from our black tea blend, Children’s Hospital Vanilla, also go to BC Children’s Hospital. You can purchase this tea, a playful blend of baby rosebuds, vanilla, and bergamot, at our store or in our Online Shop.

Vancity Buzz has nothing but praise for The Secret Garden:

“Once you’ve decided to experience high tea at the Secret Garden, your next big choice is going to have to be which of the many teas on their extensive list you’re going to sip on. The Kerrisdale tea house’s signature tea service includes all sorts of sweet and savoury items; don’t fear if you can’t finish them all, they will pack them up to go for you to enjoy later at home.”
