The Secret Garden regularly features works by local artists. This month we’re showcasing art by Denise Richard. As an artist, teacher, speaker and counselor, her artwork helps us to remember a light felt beauty.

Enjoy an engaging evening of discussion on women’s health, learning tips on prioritizing and advocating for our health as we age. You’ll also hear from two incredible speakers:
Genesa Greening, President + CEO of BC Women’s Hospital Foundation will share her personal story of building resiliency in the face of chronic pain, and why she has become a tireless advocate for women’s health.
Stephanie Rhone, BC Women’s Senior Medical Director, will lead an informative discussion on the importance of prioritizing your health as you age with key tips every woman needs on how to stay healthy.

During this special event, you’ll hear real stories about motherhood from MEC executive Shona McGlashan, and Kathy and Erin Wyder, co-owners of The Secret Garden.

The Secret Garden regularly features works by local artists. This month we will be showcasing art by Stephanie Friesen. Originally from Kelowna, Stephanie is married with 3 sons and 5 grandchildren.
In the mid 60’s Stephanie danced professionally for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Co., and she is a self taught painter and photographer. She works in watercolour, acrylic, oils and photography. Visit the Secret Garden this month to see more of Stephanie’s artwork.
Kids love tea! Perhaps you have your own memories of playing tea party as a child, or having tea with your parents or grandparents.
Recently The Secret Garden hosted a Teddy Bear picnic in the park for some of our youngest customers. They loved “playing grownup” with the fancy teacups and teapots, complete with our bright pink Blue Angel herbal tea.
You can host your own Teddy Bear Tea Party with our Children’s High Tea To Go (teaware rented separately). Or bring your little ones in enjoy our Children’s High Tea here at the Garden!

Are you celebrating a graduation this year? In honour of our young tea fans, we’re hosting a FREE High Tea Graduation Party for one lucky student and 9 of their closest friends!
Any student elementary through high school can participate in this contest — or for young ones, parents can participate on behalf of their child. To enter the drawing:
- Share a story of how tea helped you through school.
- Post your story on Facebook or Instagram, with the hashtag #teagrads.
Submit your story by Thursday, June 14th to enter the contest! We’ll draw the lucky winner on the 15th, and the High Tea party for 10 will be hosted on June 21st at 4:30pm. We look forward to hearing from you!
